My Dad, Allan James Smith was stationed at Rockcliffe in the 50\'s. I have log books of his flights to and from 408 with crew members listed as well. I would love to share the knowledge and find out more about what my dad did during his time with the 408. Perhaps someone here knew or worked with him. I would love to hear from you. Thank you. Respectfully, Doug Smith

Hi, I am trying to find out if one Fransis Alfred Philip Hoskins served as a WOP/AG with 408 some time around the time you were at Cyerston in Notts which I believe was from July 41 to Dec 41? This gentleman went onto fly with 75 Squadron, and then with 102 where on the 27th Dec he was given a DFC. Frank sadly passed away this week at the age of 93 and we are trying to piece together his service record which sadly he spoke very little about. Many thanks on behalf of the family for any help you can give us. Regards Chris (North West UK)

He wrote his story which I still have. Also have a piece of his parachute ( somewhere) his silk escape map etc. Aso his FALSE ID card made by Belgium resistance. He was liberated in Brussels. Have photos (somewhere) of his Lanc EQ-W and also EQ-S. He met up with former aircrew a few times after the war. Flight Sergeant (Pilot) Robert Wishart (R/84099) was my mother\'s only brother. He was lost along with the rest of his crew on a bombing mission to Duisburg on the night of July21/22, 1942. Their Hampden (AT139, EQ-A bar) came down in the Waddensea just east of Den Burg on Texel, cause unknown. The other three crew members were: Sergeant Robert Spencer Doherty (R/81079) of Vancouver, British Columbia Flight Sergeant (W.Op./Air Gnr.) John Beverley Pleasence (R/67907) of Chatham, Ontario Pilot Officer (W.Op./Air Gnr.) Thomas Reginald Ashton (104333) RAFVR My uncle and J.B. Pleasence were buried side by side in Harlingen and T.R. Ashton is buried in Bergen-op-Zoom. R.S Doherty was not found and is listed on the Runnymede Memorial. I know little of Doherty and nothing of Ashton. If anyone has any details or photos of these two I would love to know. I\'d also like any information anyone may have on that particular operation to Duisburg.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who might have served with my father, Roland Walter \"Walt\" Moss, a tailgunner with 408 Squadron during WW11. His plane bore the Dagwood insignia. His pilot was Frank Raider. My Dad passed away in 2005 and I would like to know more about his war service.
