Warrant Officer George Hohl

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Warrant Officer George Joseph Hohl, who was born on April 11, 1985, in Creston, British Columbia, to George and Verra Hohl. George passed away on September 5, 2025, at the age of 40.

On August 2, 2008, George married the love of his life, Michelle, and together they built a beautiful family. He will be lovingly remembered by Michelle; their daughter,

Lily-Ava; and their son, Emerson, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his older brother, Tomas Kubinek; and his sister, Zdenka Kubinek; along with his nephew, Jake Minall; and niece, Lea Minall.

George dedicated nearly two decades of his life to serving his country in the Canadian Armed Forces. He first joined in 2005 as a member of the Cadet Instructor Cadre, later transferring to the Regular Force in 2008, where he proudly served as a Vehicle Technician. Over the course of almost 20 years of service, he deployed several times, including on Operation LENTUS, Operation GLOBE, and multiple tours with Operation REASSURANCE. Most recently, he was deployed on Operation REASSURANCE as part of the Aviation Battalion under the NATO Multinational Brigade – Latvia. His dedication, professionalism, and loyalty earned him the deep respect of his comrades and the gratitude of his country.

Beyond his military career, George was a devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life was held at on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron – North Hangar. Following the service, a gathering took place at the Warrant & Sergeant’s Mess.

Arrangements entrusted to Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home.
